I go
Vanille Insensee Notes: Lime, cedrat, coriander, jasmine, vetiver, oak moss, Madagascar vanilla, oak wood, amber
This is one of my favorite vanilla fragrances. I really like the versatility of this one as it is spicy enough for the winter and light enough to be worn during the summer. It is a linear fragrance. As the name implies I get a lot of vanilla in this. I also get a touch of woods, some deep amber, and jasmine from beginning to end. This is not overly gourmand and smells refined/sophisticated. This makes a great fragrance for men and women. Because this is such a light fragrance I find it to be a great layering
Orange Sanguine Notes: Blood orange, bitter orange, jasmine, geranium from South Africa, amber woods, tonka beans, sandalwood. *Another linear fragrance- it smells like a juicy orange. I also get vanilla and a touch of woods in this.
Longevity: Atelier is not known for crazy longevity. For some reason, of all their scents this one has the longest life on my skin. I get a solid 6 hours without a base, with a base I get up to 8. Combining the fragrances doesn’t change the longevity on my skin.
Projection/Sillage: Again, not an area Atelier is known for. You won’t get massive projection approx 1 foot. Enough to be noticed when you want it to be. Projection is greatest within the first 1-2 hours and then it hangs out close to your skin.
Price/Value: This is subjective as you will have to apply this liberally and touch up often. I feel these are a great value because I genuinely enjoy both fragrances. Prices on Sephora’s website are as follows (but I found some steals on Amazon):
Vanille Insensee:
Travel size .25 oz = $25.00
1 oz/30ml= $80.00
3.3 oz/100ml= $130.00
6.7 oz/200ml= $210.00
Orange Sanguine:
Travel size .25 oz = $25.00
1 oz/30ml= $70.00
3.3 oz/100ml= $120.00
6.7 oz/200ml= $195.00
I would recommend trying a travel size and exploring a fragrance prior to purchasing. I tend to purchase the 30ml bottle and assess usage to determine if I will need 100, or 200 ml for future refills.
Overall: If you are searching for a versatile vanilla that can be worn any time of the year, for any occasion, is great for layering and can be worn by men or women? Then look no further!
Have you tried this out? I would love to hear from you!
